Fall 2025 Undergraduate Research Faculty Showcase



The Office of Undergraduate Research organizes the Faculty Showcase for Undergraduate Research Opportunities on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, 10 am – 2 pm, in Brown-Kopel Grand Hall.
10 – 11am: Faculty Research Session 1.
Faculty will talk about their research through a poster presentation or other visual aids. Faculty will meet and engage with students in discussions about undergraduate research projects.
11am -12 noon: Faculty Panel on UR Mentoring.
Dr. Christopher Lepczyk (Alumni Professor, College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment), Dr. Satyanarayana R. Pondugula (Professor, College of Veterinary Medicine), Dr. Robert Jackson (Professor, Samuel Ginn College of Engineering), and Dr. Gretchen Oliver (Professor, College of Education) will share and discuss best practices in mentoring students for undergraduate research. Dr. Kerpelman (Associate Vice President for Research) will serve as the panel moderator.
12 noon – 1pm: Undergraduate Research Lunch and Learn.
Enjoy lunch (lunch will be provided!) while learning what students are looking for. A 2025-26 undergraduate research student fellows’ cohort will also share their experience. Dr. Cremaschi (Director of Undergraduate Research) will serve as the panel moderator.
1 – 2 pm: Faculty Research Session 2.
Faculty will talk about their research through a poster presentation or other visual aids. Faculty will meet and engage with students in discussions about undergraduate research projects.
Faculty are invited to showcase their research with a poster presentation and explore potential opportunities for undergraduate research. Interested students will be directed to visit and interact on-site with faculty, post-doc, or graduate students. The Faculty Research Showcase connects faculty with students who want to engage in undergraduate research.

Poster Format:
All posters should be formed on a single 30 x 40-inch sheet.
We will provide a foam board and an adjustable easel to hold the poster during the session. Since no bulletin boards will be available to pin up your poster, the faculty must mount or clip their poster on the foam board so it can stand freely using an easel.
